About 50 members of Des Moines Black Lives Matter protested in support of Viet Tran, one of their members who was arrested by Des Moines Police on July 1. He was arrested on charges of disseminating classified or confidential police information because during an interview with a local TV station, he held a memo from the Des Moines Police Department naming individuals police wanted to arrest on vandalism charges. He got the memo from another Black Lives Matter protester. Today's protest was timed to coincide with Tran's bond hearing, which was delayed at the last minute.
