02 DECEMBER 2015 - BANGKOK, THAILAND: Women participate in a Public Health Ministry outreach session on dengue fever prevention in a neighborhood in Bangkok. The Public Health Ministry in Thailand said that more than 111,000 cases of dengue fever have been reported in 2015, an increase of more than 200% over the number of cases of dengue fever reported 2014. Dengue fever is a virus spread by mosquito and is endemic in southeast Asia. Thai health officials are aggressively spraying areas where mosquitoes are known to live and leading public information and education sessions on preventing dengue fever. There is no vaccine for dengue fever, so preventing dengue means avoiding mosquitoes. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
