A Thai policeman puts perimeter tape around a polling place in Benchasiri Park in Bangkok. Bangkok residents went to the polls Sunday to elect a new governor. Voter turnout was expected to be heavy for a local election. Pongsapat Pongchareon, the Pheu Thai candidate is thought to hold a slight lead over Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the Democrats' candidate.
