14 JUNE 2019 - WAUKEE, IOWA: JULIÁN CASTRO, Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the Obama administration, meets with residents of Midwest County Estates, a mobile home community in Waukee, a suburb of Des Moines, Friday. Castro met with residents of the community to talk about affordable housing. Mobile County Estates was sold in March and the new owners are trying to hike rents for lots in the community by 69%, an amount residents say they can't afford. Castro is visiting Iowa to support his candidacy for the Democratic ticket of the US Presidency. Iowa traditionally hosts the the first selection event of the presidential election cycle.
