The testing this weekend is considered a "soft opening" for the program and tests were reserved for medical professionals and first responders. Despite numerous outbreaks in meat packing plants throughout Iowa, members of the public have not been able to get tested. On Saturday, 25 April, there were 5,092 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus / SARS-CoV-2) in Iowa (an increase of 647 since Friday, April 24) and 112 deaths in Iowa caused by COVID-19.
