02 AUGUST 2018 - PAK KRET, NONTHABURI, THAILAND: A pottery factory on Ko Kret. Ko Kret (also spelled Koh Kret) is a small island in the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi province north of Bangkok. It is about 2 km long and 1 km wide. It has seven main villages, the largest and most populous being Ban Mon. Ko Kret was created in 1722 when a canal was dug in the Chao Phraya River to bypass a bend. Most of the people on the island are ethnically Mon, from the hills of western Thailand and eastern Myanmar (Burma). The island is popular as a weekend daytrip from Bangkok.
