07 AUGUST 2005 - PHOENIX, AZ: ALAN, who said he has lived on the streets of Phoenix for more than 10 years, pushes his dumpster past the Agape Harvest Church tents used for Sunday services. Alan said he collects garbage left on the street as a part of his "atonement" for past sins. The mile between the Phoenix police department headquarters and the Arizona State Capitol is also Phoenix's "Skid Row" where most of the homeless live and most of the homeless shelters and charity kitchens are located. Members of Agape Harvest Church come down to area on Sunday mornings and hold church services for the people in the area. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
