27 NOVEMBER 2019 - DES MOINES, IOWA: US Senator CORY BOOKER (D-NJ) bows his head in prayer before lunch at Central Iowa Shelter and Services in Des Moines. Sen Booker helped plate up and serve lunch at the shelter. The shelter has about 180 beds and is full almost every night. In January and February, more than 250 people per night come to the shelter, which sets out overflow bedding. Senator Booker is running to be the Democratic nominee for the US Presidency in 2020.
