Many downtown businesses have boarded their windows during the trial Derek Chauvin murder trial. They are afraid there will be violent protests if Chauvin is acquitted. Protesters are keeping a 24 hour presence in front of the Hennepin County Courthouse in Minneapolis during the murder trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin. Chauvin is on trial for murdering George Floyd in 2020. Floyd's death, while restrained and in police custody, set off a summer of racial justice protests across the United States.
