Seniors Citizens Stay Fit with Mexican Folklorico Dancing

27 JUNE 2012 - GLENDALE, AZ: SOCORRO MARTINEZ, 64 years old, sings during rehearsal for the Senior Fiesta Dancers at the Glendale Adult Center, in Glendale, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix. Dancing as a part of workout regimen is not unusual, but the Senior Fiesta Dancers use Mexican style folklorico dances for their workouts. The Senior Fiesta Dancers have been performing together for 15 years. They get together every week for rehearsals and perform at nursing homes and retirement centers in the Phoenix area once a month or so. Their energetic Mexican folklorico dances keep them limber and provide a cardio workout. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
