28 MAY 2018 - BANGKOK, THAILAND: Women from Myanmar makes of betel to sell to Burmese people in Phra Khanong Market in Bangkok. The market serves a mix of Thai working class people and immigrants from Myanmar (Burma). Betel used to be popular in Thailand but was banned in the 1940s and now only a few older Thais still chew the mild stimulant. It's still very popular in Myanmar and it's not unusual to find market stalls selling betel in Burmese migrant communities in Thailand. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
