CoronavirusHotLunch

18 MARCH 2020 - DES MOINES, IOWA: CODY EVISON, at the South Side Senior Center in Des Moines, brings hot food to a waiting client. Des Moines senior centers closed their dining rooms this week in response to the Coronavirus. Clients are picking up their meals on a "drive through" basis. On Wednesday morning, 18 March, Iowa reported 29 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus. Restaurants, bars, movie theaters, places that draw crowds are closed for at least 30 days. There are no "shelter in place" orders in effect anywhere in Iowa but people are being encouraged to practice "social distancing" and many businesses are requiring or encouraging employees to telecommute.
