02 JUNE 2020 - WEST DES MOINES, IOWA: A voter leaves the West Des Moines polling place on primary election day at Valley High School in West Des Moines. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, all of the polling places in West Des Moines were consolidated to Valley High School, where voting booths were set up with social distancing in mind and booths were sanitized before they were reused. Although Iowa uses a caucus system to select presidential candidates, they use a primary election to select candidates for other offices. Statewide, the most watched race Tuesday is the Democratic Senate primary to select a candidate to run against Republican incumbent Joni Ernst. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
