07 OCTOBER 2017 - MORATUWA, SRI LANKA: A Catholic crucifix towers over Moratuwa, a fishing village south of Colombo. About 8% of Sri Lanka is Christian, the majority of which are Roman Catholic. Catholicism was spread by Portuguese colonizers who came to Sri Lanka in the 1500 and 1600s. The village is majority Catholic. Fish is an important source for many Sri Lankans. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
