04 OCTOBER 2014 - GEORGE TOWN, PENANG, MALAYSIA: People pray as a procession honoring Durga is drawn through the streets of George Town during the Navratri procession. Navratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga, the most popular incarnation of Devi and one of the main forms of the Goddess Shakti in the Hindu pantheon. The word Navaratri means 'nine nights' in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi are worshiped. PHOTO BY JACK KURTZ
