06 FEBRUARY 2021 - DES MOINES, IOWA: A member of Iowa's Burmese community holds up the three finger salute popularized by the Hunger Games movies during a protest against the military coup in Myanmar that deposed the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi. The so called "Hunger Games salute" has been adapted by protesters in Myanmar opposed to the military government. About 200 members of the Burmese community in Iowa gathered in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Des Moines Saturday to protest against the military coup in Myanmar that deposed the popularly elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi.
