20 MARCH 2020 - DES MOINES, IOWA: 801 Grand, the tallest office tower in Iowa, is closed Friday. The building is a part of the campus of Principal, a large financial services company. The building was shutdown Friday after a visitor tested positive for COVID-19. Some workers were placed in self quarantine and all were ordered to work from home. On Friday morning, 20 March, Iowa reported 45 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus. Restaurants, bars, movie theaters, places that draw crowds are closed for at least 30 days. There are no "shelter in place" orders in effect anywhere in Iowa but people are being encouraged to practice "social distancing" and many businesses are requiring or encouraging employees to telecommute.
