28 NOVEMBER 2019 - DES MOINES, IOWA: US Senator KAMALA HARRIS (D-CA) carries a basket of cookies while she walks to the finish area of the Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot is an annual Des Moines Thanksgiving Day 5 mile fun run. Sen. Harris greeted runners in the finish area and handed out cookies. She is running to be the Democratic nominee for the US Presidency in 2020. Iowa hosts the first selection event of the presidential election season. The Iowa caucuses are February 3, 2020.
