About 100 soldiers of A (Alpha) Company of the 422nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion (referred to as “Alpha 4-2-2”) of the Arizona Army National Guard returned to Arizona on Sunday, Jan. 15, following a nearly year-long deployment to Afghanistan. More than 10,000 Arizona Army and Air National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been ordered to federal active duty in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and New Dawn since September 2001.
