Washington Square used to be an infamous "adult entertainment" district in Bangkok. It was shut down in early 2012. The demolition of the buildings started later in the year. In Thailand, demolition workers live on the job site while they tear down the buildings around them.
In Washington Square, a new, temporary, community has sprung up in the shadow of the old Red Light district. When the demolition of the buildings is complete the workers will move on to their new homes at the next job site.
