King Norodom Sihanouk ruled Cambodia from 1953 until 1970 and played a role in his country's death right up to his death in October 2012. After he abdicated the throne, he was named Cambodia's "King Father," an honorific. He was an enigmatic, complicated man who leaves a checkered legacy. Despite his complicated nature, he was beloved by Cambodians who have come by the hundreds of thousands to wish him a final farewell.
